Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.10. The product 'cleft timber measured as dry mass' represents a mix of cleft timber produced from residual softwood and hardwood from forestry activities as well as cleft timber produced as the sole reference product from planted eucalyptus forest management activities. The amount is expressed as dry mass including bark. Production takes place in the forest. When produced from residual softwood and hardwood the wood is cut into one-meter-long log pieces. The logs are split along the grain with a mobile tractor-powered clefting device. When produced from eucalyptus hardwood the production of cleft timber includes the use of a grapple saw or a chain saw. Cleft timber is used as wood fuel with a lower heating value of circa 14.46 MJ/kg. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity. The reference product amount is 1.
