Mattress (mattress production - polyurethane foam)

Emissions generated by the activity within the product supply chain as described in ecoinvent v3.8. This product represents a pocket spring mattress. The life cycle inventory data was retrieved from Lanoe, Simões and Simões (2013). The considered lifespan of the mattresses was approximately 10 years. It was considered that a person of maximum weight 120 kg would sleep 8h/day on the mattress, resulting in 29.200 h of sleep. Therefore, the reference unit considered was one unit mattress with 1 m width and 2 m length. The cut-off classification is allocatable product. The activity type is ordinary transforming activity. The reference product amount is 1.
