Simplified data versions
We have simplified how we talk about and accept data versions based on user feedback. The
19.19
version format still works and is equivalent to the new fixed version format 19
.New Data
- IEA 2024 data including electricity generation factors, T&D losses and well-to-tank emissions for years 2018-2023.
- EPA SmartWay 2024 data including carrier specific emission factors for year 2023.
- DISER/DCCEEW 2024 data for Australia including fuel and electricity emission factors retrieved from the datasets National Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors and the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER).
Data Changed
This list only covers major changes. Changes covering a smaller subset of emission factors, or changes such as name or description changes, are not listed. Find a link at the end of this document to a structured table listing all changes.
- We have updated electricity emission factors for European regions, from 1990 to 2022, based on updates released by EEA in 2024.
- We have updated the refrigerant gas data for 2021-2024 to clearly distinguish Kyoto and Non-Kyoto gases, as provided by BEIS/DEFRA.
- We have corrected the values for the gases CH₄ and N₂O in the 2023 New Zealand emissions dataset "Measuring Emissions: A Guide for Organisations", sourced from MfE.
